Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of the Bitmail Android app and the bitmailapp.com website. Please read them; installing or using Bitmail means you accept them.
Last updated: 21 August 2026
01Who provides Bitmail
Bitmail is provided by Kurdbits, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 96243554. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Kurdbits, and “you” means the person using the app or the site. You can reach us at info@bitmailapp.com.
02What Bitmail is
Bitmail is an email client. It connects to mailboxes you already have at providers you already use, and displays them on your device. We do not provide email accounts, mail hosting or mail delivery, and we are not a party to your relationship with your email provider.
03Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Bitmail on devices you control, for personal or internal business use, in line with these terms.
You may not sell, rent or sublicense the app, remove or obscure any notices in it, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except to the extent that mandatory law expressly allows.
04Your accounts and your responsibility
You are responsible for the email accounts you connect and for keeping your device and credentials secure. You confirm that you are entitled to access any mailbox you add to the app.
You must not use Bitmail to send unlawful, fraudulent, infringing or abusive messages, to send unsolicited bulk email, to distribute malware, or to break the terms of your own email provider or any applicable law. We may decline to provide the transfer service described below to anyone who does.
05Your content
Your email, contacts and attachments are yours. We claim no ownership of them and we do not read, mine or sell them. In ordinary use they are handled entirely on your device and are never sent to us.
You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Because Bitmail holds no copy of your mail, we cannot restore anything for you.
06File transfer links
When a file is too large to attach, Bitmail can upload it and send a download link instead, for files up to 2 GB, optionally protected by a password you set.
A transfer is temporary. The file is stored only for as long as the link is valid and is deleted afterwards, so a link should not be treated as storage or as a backup. Anyone holding an unprotected link can download the file, so use a password when the contents are sensitive.
We may remove a transfer, and refuse further use of the service, where a file is unlawful, infringes someone's rights, contains malware, or is used to abuse the service.
07Availability and changes
We work to keep Bitmail and its transfer service running, but we do not guarantee that either will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn as the app develops, and we may stop offering the app altogether.
Connecting to a mailbox depends on your email provider and on your internet connection, neither of which is under our control.
08Price
Bitmail is currently free to download and use. If a paid feature is ever introduced, its price and terms will be stated clearly before you buy anything, and purchases made through Google Play are subject to Google's terms as well as these.
09No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bitmail is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights of a consumer under Dutch or EU law, which apply regardless of what is written here.
10Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from your email provider, your device, your internet connection, or messages you send or receive.
Nothing here excludes liability for intent, deliberate recklessness, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11Intellectual property
The Bitmail app, its name, its logo, this website and their contents belong to Kurdbits or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms transfer no rights in them to you other than the licence described above. Third-party components included in the app remain subject to their own licences.
12Ending the agreement
You may stop using Bitmail at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. The sections on your content, no warranty, liability and intellectual property survive the end of this agreement.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with the date it took effect at the top. If a change is material we will make a reasonable effort to point it out, for example in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Bitmail after a change means you accept the new version.
14Law and jurisdiction
Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts of your own country of residence.
